Mary P. Drake, 92 of Zanesville died 8:45 PM Monday, May 16, 2011 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.

She was born Sunday, February 23, 1919 in Coshocton the daughter of John E. and Mary Laurette (Wimmer) Schmueser.

She was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School and Merideth Business College. She was a fine seamstress her entire adult life and worked for the Muskingum County Board of Elections as a poll worker for over 40 years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, a member of the Good Samaritan Charity Circle, Charity Circle Bridge Club and a Hospice Volunteer.

Mary is survived by 4 Children: Donald E. (Jill) Drake of Kettering; Diana (Vince) DeVol of Sardinia; Joan (Dana) Drake of Silt, CO; and J. Michael (Christine) Drake of Zanesville and 11 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren

She is preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband, Donald L. Drake, sisters Alice Catherine Schmeuser, Ann Drumm and Joan Hinkle, and brother John Joseph Schmeuser.

Friends may call Friday May 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30am Saturday May 21 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Ralko as celebrant. Burial will conclude in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice or St. Nicholas Catholic Church.
