Mary Watts
Mary “Christine” Watts, age 91, passed into the loving arms of her Savior on October 6, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Christine was born March 29, 1935 to Rupert and Helen (Maier) Kent. She was a graduate of Lash High School and married Norman Eugene Watts on September 4, 1955. Together they built a life centered around their family, their faith, and their love for others.
Christine was a faithful member of Maranatha Bible Church, where she served others in many quiet and meaningful ways. Her handmade quilts and crocheted items blessed many newborns and supported mission projects. She had a generous heart and found joy in using the gifts God had given her to bless others.
Her chocolate chip cookies were legendary among her grandchildren, which they all enjoyed eating while playing games together. Her family was her greatest joy. She loved all of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren and delighted in watching their lives unfold.
She was especially proud of her family members who served their country. Her grandson Robert served in the Army, Seth served in the Air Force, and Kyle served in the Marines. Her great-grandson Austin also served in the Marines. She was also especially proud of her granddaughter Beth, who is a missionary in Panama.
Christine is survived by her beloved husband, Gene Watts; her children, Mike (Roxanne) Watts, Jeff (Erine-deceased) Watts, and Helen Watts; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers, and her daughter-in-law.
Christine’s faith was an important part of her life, and she is now with the Savior she loved and served.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Genesis Hospice for the comfort and care they provided to both Christine and the family.

Calling hours for Christine will be held at Maranatha Bible Church, 2400 Chandlersville Rd., Zanesville, OH 43701, on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 10 to 12 Noon. A service celebrating Christine’s life and faith will follow at the church beginning at 12 Noon. Services will be officiated by Pastor Chris Brown. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
