Masquerade Parade on Linden

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Zanesville will be celebrating like they are in New Orleans.
The Masquerade Parade on Linden is a Mardi Gras style bar crawl with eight local bars taking part. Participants in the event will be able to celebrate by purchasing Masquerade masks and Mardi Gras beads at The Barn, they will be able to join a raffle where winners can receive a trip to Orlando, Florida. People will also have a chance at winning 200 dollars by taking selfies with landmarks at all eight locations and posting on the Facebook event page. New Orleans style foods such as gumbo and jambalaya will be available at the Barn as well.
“All those kinds of things to get kind of the Mardi Gras, New Orleans feeling here in Ohio. So it gives us kind of a week to welcome Spring and have a little bit of fun around that,” said The Barn owner, Jim Watson.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the Rosecrans Athletic Boosters where some of the expenses will be used for new helmets for the Rosecrans football team. Rosecrans Athletic Boosters member, Herb Baker, said it’s important to support your local area in any way you can.
“It’s important for local businesses, for local people to support local people. Doesn’t matter whether it’s schools, what business it is, as long as it’s legitimate we help one another,” he said.
Sign up for the parade is $10 per person between 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Barn. Parade bus rides will also be accessible for people to ride to any of the participating bars for a cost of $2.
