Matthew “Matt” “Norton” Scott Dietrich, 58 of Zanesville died at 2:59 AM Friday, April 25, 2025, at his home under hospice care following a brief illness.
He was born on Saturday, September 10, 1966, in Cleveland, Ohio. Matt graduated from Massillon Washington High School in 1984. Then graduated from Muskingum College in 1988 with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Political Science. Matt was a Veteran of the United States Marines having proudly served during Operation Desert Storm. He was employed at Kellogg Zanesville Plant. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan.
Matt is survived by his wife, Natalie Loraine Young Dietrich, whom he married September 27, 2011, a step-daughter, Whitney Herron; a grandson Kase Inniss; his father Charles (Linda Margolin) Dietrich, four siblings, Beth (Rob) Kelch, Bill (Tony Zanelotti) Dietrich, Chip (Jane) Dietrich and Tom (Katie Woodburn) Dietrich; eight nieces and nephews, Rebecca, Tim, Daniel, David, Kevin, Ryan, Desmond, and Theo.
Matt was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Diane Goss Dietrich.
Burial with military honors at Mt. Calvary Cemetery and a Celebration of Life at a later date.
