May 5th is National Day of PrayerZANESVILLE, Ohio-Did you know the first Thursday in May is observed as national prayer day?

National Day of Prayer is a day where people around the united states turn to God, prayer, and meditation at places of worship, in groups, or as individuals.

“With everything going on in the world right now, I think it ‘s a good thing that we get together and we pray,” said the National Day of Prayer committee member Debbie Pettit. “We’ve got a big election coming so it will be very great to pray for what’s coming and for whoever is going to be elected.”

on Thursday, May 5th the City of Zanesville will celebrate National Day of Prayer with a service at Zanesville High School at 7 p.m.

“We have different speakers. Stirman Moore from Duncan Falls will be the guest speaker. And we will have each person, like a business, somebody from city, somebody from the county that will say a prayer. You just show up at 7 p.m. And it will be a great time.”
