Maysville, Morgan On the Move In Latest Muskingum Valley League Changes

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum Valley League (MVL) is shaking up once again ahead of the 2026-2027 full athletic calendar year.
Beginning this year, the Maysville Panthers are moving back into the big school division, swapping with the Morgan Raiders. This move restores the divisions which were altered ahead of the 2024-2025 the year. This change is effective for both boys and girls sports.
The following are the final divisions for each of the next two years:
BIG SCHOOL DIVISION: John Glenn, Maysville, Philo, River View, Sheridan, Tri-Valley
SMALL SCHOOL DIVISION: Coshocton, Crooksville, Meadowbrook, Morgan, New Lexington, West Muskingum
Additionally, beginning in the 2028-2029 athletic year, the New Lexington Panthers are moving to the big school division, changing with the River View Black Bears, this coming for all of boys sports. The Lady Black Bears are also moving into the small school division, being replaced bye West Muskingum in two years’ time.
The divisional changes were announced by the Muskingum Valley League based on enrollment numbers according to the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA), which do not include competitive balance.
