MCBI Business Plan Competition Grand Prize Winner
The Muskingum County Business Incubator rewarded a new, local business with $10,000.
MCBI held its 9th annual business plan competition this week, where five finalists presented their business plans to a local panel. Only one business was able to walk away with the grand prize and this years winner goes to Ronald Palmer, Co-founder of Network4Rentals.com. Palmer explains exactly how Network4Rentals.com works.
"Network4Rentals.com is a online communication software for the home rental industry, it’s kind of like a social network for landlords, tenets, and contractors and their maintenance people to communicate with each other to try to avoid any of those communication gaps that are causing problems within the industry. They get a lot of media attention for bad landlords and bad tenets and so forth, and what we found in our history was that was just stemming from poor communication."
Palmer says he was shocked when the judges announced Network4Rentals.com was the grand prize winner.
"Surprised. I was very confident in our company and our business plan but the presentation side of it was very nerve wrecking and I was surprised that they chose us and very excited, so. Ready to move forward from here."
The MCBI runner-up goes to Tracey Dodson and her company Threadroots. Dodson received $1,000 cash and $1,000 in business services.
