MCBI Presents “Shark Tub”

The Muskingum County Business Incubator is hosting its first ever “Shark Tub” event at the end of the month.
The event is based off of the popular TV show, Shark Tank. During the event, local business owners will pitch their business ideas to try and earn play investment dollars in order to compete in front of a local shark panel for a cash prize of $3,000. Executive Director, Larry Triplett, says they have a strong panel of sharks lined up.
“The sharks are MaryJane Shackelford, with Barnes Advertising, Jim Lepi with Lepi Enterprises, John Knight who used to own the Fabri-form company over in New Concord and Greg Adams, who also used to own the resource systems over in New Concord. And there’s one surprise shark, who we’re not announcing his name, at this point, but you have to come and see who it is!”
Triplett says there are 18 businesses competing for the $3,000 cash prize this year and they are expecting to sell close to 200 tickets.
“We’d love for everybody to come to it, it’s going to be a fun event. It’s designed for business people to come or nonbusiness people to come. Everybody’s invited, it’s gonna be a fun event with music and appetizers and a lot of exciting shark activity.”
The event will be Thursday, January 22 from 6-9 P.M. Tickets will be $10 and you can purchase them on their website at mcbi.info.com
