MCCF Announces the 2016 Spring Grant Winners

The Muskingum County Community Foundation has announced the recipients of its Annual Spring Grant Competition.

It’s an opportunity for non-profit organizations to apply for money they can use towards a specific project. CEO, Brian Wagner said 12 awards were handed out totaling just over $36,000.

“We asked non-profit organizations to submit grant proposals within the areas of arts and culture, education and recreation,” said Wagner. “It’s a very difficult process because there are a lot of worth-while organization that we would like to support but, unfortunately, we can’t help everybody. But we look at ones that we feel are really going to be able to help the community and help in those three core areas.”

Wagner said each of the winning organizations signed an agreement stipulating that there will be site visits on the success of the project.

“The distribution committee hopefully will begin to meet with some of the recipients to talk about the success they had or if it’s program based grant with an on-going grant they may actually do some site visits where they go and look at what’s going on with the programs and how they are best impacting the area,” said Wagner.

A full list of all of the organizations that won the spring grant competition can be found on their website at the link at www.mccf.org.
