MCCF Awards Nearly $1M in Scholarships
ZANESVILLE, OH – College comes with a big price, but thanks to MCCF, hundreds of local students got some much-needed relief.
The Muskingum County Community Foundation has awarded more than $948,000 in scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year. The funds were distributed to over 300 students through three awarding cycles and across 77 different scholarship funds.
“I believe that any time as a community, when we invest in our youth, we’re investing in our future. Just as much as we want to live here, stay here, and be happy here, we need to provide for our kids because ultimately, those are the ones who are going to be taking care of us.” MCCF Program Director, Beth Fox said.
These scholarships aren’t just for high school seniors. MCCF also supports current college students, those pursuing technical programs, and even students preparing for military service. None of this would be possible without the generosity of community donors and the dedication of MCCF’s scholarship committee members.
“It fills my cup in a way that is refillable. These kids are coming back not just in the summers and not just to come back for homecoming, but they’re coming back to stay and they’re coming back to work. Being able to support them on their journey to grow and to develop and then seeing them come back home to our community and invest, is just such a rewarding profession.” Fox said.
