MCCF Helps High School Seniors with College search
Area High School seniors are getting some help on their college applications.
The Muskingum County Community Foundation is trying to get more students to apply to colleges in their senior year of high school with ‘College Application Month.’ We spoke to Katie McCarty, the Educational Assistant for The Muskingum County Community Foundation and she tells us that she thinks this year is going to be very successful.
“The month of November is College Application Month that means the high schools have the opportunity to allow their students to fill out college applications and just be more aware of whats going on with each of the students and be able to help them along the path a little easier, ” said McCarty.
Crooksville High School is going to have a college application day on November 10th at the high school. There will be different sessions for students to go to pertaining to the college application process.
“One of the teachers from Crooksville is going to be doing a essay writing workshop. Scott Web from Web Financial is coming in and talking about financial planning for high school students to help them under a little bite more about what kind of things they need to know when they get out of high school,” said McCarty.
The Muskingum County Community Foundation also helps with scholarship applications, the financial aid process, FAFSA and a whole lot more.
