ZANESVILLE, OH- Money raised from the Muskingum County Community Foundation’s annual Groundhog Day Fundraiser is going to be put to good use this Spring.

Director of Programs at MCCF Beth Fox said that $70,000 will go to assisting non-profits and community projects in Muskingum County and is intended for program or project funding.

“I think our local non-profits do a phenomenal job engaging with our community and really helping the needs with our community. This is a way that we can turn some gifts around and help them with the wonderful work that they’re doing.”

Fox also said that the Grant Competition allows the non-profits to use the gift to support their work in the community.

“We have been able to help out a number of different non-profit organizations here within the last few years. The list is numerous so I would have trouble going through them and naming them all but I will tell you that this year we ran a non-profit series trying to help some of our non-profits with Grant Writing, Board Assembly and all of those good things and the amount of response we got from those was phenomenal.”

The applications for the Spring Grant Competition are due by 5:00 pm on March 27th. A Distribution Committee will review the applications and begin the selection process. Winners will be announced in May and you can register for the Spring Grant Program on their website at mccf.org.
