MCLS Revamps Website

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Literacy in the 21st Century requires more skill than ever before.
Muskingum County Library System Marketing and Community Relations Director Sean Fennell shares how the library’s website is ever evolving in today’s digital age.
“We are very excited to have released a brand new website for the Muskingum County Library system. This website has been long in the making but we wanted to make sure that we did it right. So it has been kind of a more quiet process that we have been working on. A little bit more behind the scenes. But last week we were able to unveil it to the public and so far we’re very excited with the public reception.”
Not only does the website incorporate more features but it must also present a user friendliness that makes it less complicated for the public to access those options.
“This website was built specifically with accessibility in mind. So a lot of the things you’re going to see on the website; you’re going to hopefully see larger fonts. You’re going to see better navigation. And what you may not see but is there is the actual structure behind the website that allows people who may have visual impairments to still access our website through assistive technology.”
The website that offers a new look when you visit muskingumlibrary.org complies with the ADA requirements that involve many behind the scenes technologies designed to ensure a broader range of accessibility.
To learn more about the website’s new accessibility options that are available, you can schedule a tech session at any MCLS location.
