MCLS to Host Hands-on Home Repair Workshops
ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum County Library System is getting ready for a program geared towards helping homeowners with home repairs.
On Friday, August 22nd the Library will be partnering up with Home Repair and Care Training Centers for two programs focused on different projects within your home.
Ro Sassen, the Adult Services Librarian, says the first program will be held at 11AM in the New Concord Branch Library and it will focus on toilet repairs while the second program will be held at 5PM in the Duncan Falls Philo Branch with this program focusing on electrical systems.
“It’s going to be going over toilet repair and how and what the language is around toilets and plumbing and how to identify when there’s issues and how to communicate with repair folks when they come in.” Sassen said. “Then in the afternoon we’re doing electrical systems so I think she’s going to cover how electricity comes into your home, how to look at outlets, switches, how to tell if there’s an issue, things like that.”
Sassen says as a home owner himself, this program is perfect for first time homeowners who might not know everything that goes into home repairs.
He also says that sometimes the age of the home can affect some of the problems that come up and programs like these can prepare homeowners for the worst case scenario.
“Molly uses mobile units so she’s going to be bringing, in the morning she’ll have a full size toilet and we’ll be able to look at everything itself.” Sassen said. “I know nothing about electrical so I don’t know what she’s bringing for the afternoon but she has fully mobile units so we can show everything life size to how it will be in your house.”
Registration is required for this program and seats are limited.
