MCLS to Host Science Tots Program
ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum County Library System is getting ready to spark some curiosity and show off the wonders of Spring.
The Library will be hosting their Science Tots program on Tuesday, March 25th, from 11AM to noon at the Dresden Branch Library.
Scott Glover, the Branch Services Coordinator, said it’s an interactive family program aimed at children ages 0 to 5, with various stations set up for kids to learn about science with hands-on experience.
“Specifically Spring science, so they’re going to be looking at butterflies, pollination, they’re going to get their hands on making windsocks,” Glover explained. “And lots of other craft and activities that have to do with science.”
Glover said it’s important to not only get kids reading at a young age but also letting them explore and discover the world around them.
“They get their hands in the dirt, they’ll be playing with things, they’re going to take some seeds and planters with them that they can plant in their own gardens,” Glover said. “If we can start them at a young age, of learning the value of doing those kinds of things, it’ll really be something they can carry on to their adult years.”
Registration is required for this program and seats for the Dresden Branch are filling up fast.
Not to fear, there will be another Science Tots program at the New Concord Branch on Wednesday, March 26th from 5:30PM to 6:30PM.
