McVey Loses Gun Permit/Released From Jail
Coshocton County Sheriff Tim Rogers has pulled the concealed weapons permit of a local man arrested in North Carolina who authorities say wanted to see the President while carrying a gun.
Sheriff Rogers says he sent a notice of suspension to Joseph Sean McVey, informing him he was suspending McVey’s concealed carry handgun license.
Rogers cited McVey’s arrest in North Carolina Sunday on a misdemeanor charge of going armed in terror of the public.
A Sheriff’s Office report from January released to the Associated Press indicates McVey had a permit to carry a .40 caliber handgun.
The Asheville Citizen Times is reporting that McVey, whose mother lives in Asheville, was released from jail Tuesday afternoon. The Paper says McVey used a bondsman to post the $100,000 bond.
He was released from jail at 4 p.m. McVey’s next court date is June 10th.
