Mead Street House Fire

A house fire occurred at 351 Mead Street Friday evening.

The call for the blaze came just before 11PM Friday night. Zanesville Fire Department responded to the scene and was able to extinguish the fire, but had to return Saturday morning for a re-kindling in the front wall. No one was living in the home at the time and no injuries were reported. According to ZFD Assistant Chief Robert Long, this was the second fire at the house in a week. Arson is suspected but the cause is still under investigation. The homeowner did not have insurance on the house and it is considered to be a complete loss.
