Meet Gizmo, This Week’s Pet of the Week

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- It’s that time of the week again. But it’s a few days early.

This week’s pet of the week is two and a half year old boxer named Gizmo. Animal Shelter executive director Jody Murray describes her as a good dog with very high energy. Gizmo is current on her shots and she has already been spayed.

“A very loving dog,” said Murray. “We’ve had her since January. She has a reduced adoption fee of $25. We would suggest like all adoptions families come in spend some time with her. If they have other dogs at home we’d want to arrange a meet and greet. So we can make sure they’re compatible and get along.”

The animal shelter will host their annual “Paws N Claws” Summer Jam on Saturday, June 11th at the fairgrounds. This year’s summer jam will consist of the cornhole tournament and live band. But not only that it will also feature a photo and dog kissing booth as well as a celebrity dunk tank featuring our very own Phil Sakal.

“It’s one of the big fundraisers that the shelter has. We want to invite people out. We’re having a local dance club come in to do some dancing, just all kinds of things. $5 cover charge. Kids under 12 free. So come out and support the shelter,” said Murray.
