Men Allowed at ACS Golf Tournament

There is still time to get your team in for the American Cancer Society’s Pink Ribbon Golf Classic.

This year women aren’t the only ones playing. After 28 years, the Pink Ribbon Golf Classic will add men to the list of players for the tournament.

“This is a new concept,” said Event Chair Tammy Swope. “We are including men’s teams and mixed teams, where we have men and women on the same team. We’re happy to include the men because the ACS doesn’t have an all men’s tournament anymore.”

Swope says the tournament reflects a little known fact about men and breast cancer.

“People don’t realize that men and young men have that opportunity to have breast cancer,” she said. “We do a focus on breast cancer awareness. We will be donating $2,500 to breast cancer research in Ohio.”

The golf tournament will take place Monday at the Zanesville Jaycee Golf Course. It begins bright and early at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
