ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Midwest Community for Developmental Disabilities hosted a fishing tournament Saturday, October 6th.

The tournament took place at the National Road Campground where lunch was served and awards were handed out. Linda Leach, Program Director, said they invited other agencies to the event that support Research in Developmental Disabilities.

“We just like to get all of the agencies together because I feel like it’s really important to keep the friendships and keep the community together and these guys don’t get to do a lot so stuff like this is a big deal for them,” Leach said.

There were agencies from all over Zanesville in attendance along with their clients. Mid-West Community hosts events like this every year to get everybody together and know what’s going on.

“Oh it means a lot to me that the other agencies are coming together and it’s just showing how important it is to these guys to be able to get together. I mean they’re showing up yelling at each other, giving people high fives and stuff like that. So it’s just very important to them to be able to have stuff like this,” Leach said.
