Mildred Louise Schneider, better known as Millie, 93, of Zanesville passed away at 3:45 A.M on Friday, March 20, at Beckett House Nursing Home.
She was born on February 16, 1933, in Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter of the late Therman and Beulah Poe. Millie grew up on a farm in Clermont County; her first job was at the Gruen Watch Company.
Millie’s love for people aspired her to dedicate nearly three decades to building a career at the Kroger in Lancaster, Ohio, where she retired in 1995 and later at Campbell’s in South Zanesville. She established herself in the community, where she treated everyone with kindness and never met a stranger. She was always there to lend an ear and have a conversation. Millie was a Godly woman, where she attended Cornerstone Full Gospel church in Duncan Falls, Ohio. She was an adamant member of the Rambling Roses. Above all else, she was a dedicated mother of three children. In 1985, she married her late husband Charlie Schneider, where they spent the remainder of their days building a home that welcomed the next three generations to come. Here they enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Millie is survived by her daughter Judy (Chris) Johnson; son-in-law Rick McConnell, 6 grandchildren: Jessica Johnson, Andrea (Jeff) Gamache, Alex Johnson, Taylor (Chris) Pitcock, Brandon (Ryan) Pitcock, Chaz (Lilly); 2 great-granddaughters: Charlie Gamache and Gracelynn McConnell; and great-grandson, Chandler Gamache.
In addition to her late husband, Charlie Schneider, she is preceded in death by both parents Therman and Beula Poe, son Jerry Gregory, and daughter Sheri McConnell.
