Mini-Mac Closure
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Renovations often mean inconvenience, and such is the case at the John McIntire Library.
However, Muskingum County Library System Marketing and Community Relations Director Sean Fennell explained some of the measures that are being taken to alleviate the hindrance of the Mini-Mac closure.
“If you’re missing some of the friendly faces you’re used to seeing at the John McIntire Library, you can come visit our Mall Outreach Stop and you can see those same people,” Fennell said. “Um, we have extended the mall hours and all of the friendly staff from the John McIntire Library that you just seen at Mini-Mac are going to be going out to our branches but also to the Mall Outreach Stop. So you can come and see us.”
The Mall Outreach Stop hours will be extended to 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, which is two hours longer than the branch locations.
“Of course our Digital Collection is always open and that is 24/7 as well. So we have a lot of different ways for people to continue accessing the library. It just might be a little bit different than what you’re used to. Now of course one thing we are doing as well, is that coming up on next Monday, (January 12th) we will be reintroducing curbside service at the John McIntire Library. But you can always have your holds transferred to the mall location if you prefer to pick up your items here at the mall,” Fennell said.
As the library’s hours at the Colony Square Mall’s Food Court location increase, the John McIntire location is expected to remain closed until its completion this spring.
