Missing Strasburg Couple Found Dead in a Car in Coshocton County

The Associated Press is reporting that a burned-out car belonging to a missing Strasburg couple has been found near Bakersville in Coshocton County.

The 1986 Pontiac was found on Adams Township Road Thursday, and according to NBC affiliate WKYC, the bodies of its owners, 88-year-old Doyle Chumney and his 79-year-old wife Lillian, were later discovered inside.

The Associated Press says the elderly couple was reported missing by family members Wednesday. The couple last talked to family members around 11 p.m. Tuesday night and didn’t show up when they were supposed to take their son to the airport Wednesday morning.

The couple’s daughter went to their home in Strasburg and found their vehicle missing and the home ransacked.

We’ll have more on the investigation as information becomes available.
