Morgan County Fatal Accident Investigated

The Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident in Morgan County. Troopers from the Marietta Post say it happened Tuesday just after 4:30 in the afternoon on State Route 78 in Homer Township. Troopers say 29-year-old James Douglas of New Marshfield was driving west on 78, went left of center and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 48-year-old Daniel Abdella of Athens. Douglas was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say Abdella was taken to an Athens hospital for treatment. The accident remains under investigation.
