ZANESVILLE, Ohio—The 29th annual Motorcyclists for Kids toy drive took place Saturday at Walmart on Maple Avenue in Zanesville.
The toy drive had hundreds of bikers showing up to support the Salvation Army.
At the event they collected toys to donate to the Salvation Army. But also provided a fun filled experience for the community.
George Bates member of the Salvation Army stated, “This this is just an awesome event. I’m blessed to live in this community. We have a group of, really good people. And every, every year when this comes up, I think about it. And what a great time to look at who does this event. It’s a bunch of bikers, of all things, man. Who would ever think that? But it’s good. It’s good to know that the bikers in this community care about the youth, the less fortunate.”
The toy drive also saw some first  responders to help make the experience more special and even with their busy schedules Mr. and Mrs. Claus made an appearance, all for the ones who matter most.
Greg Lloyd, an event coordinator stated, “It’s all about the kids. I mean, we’re out here to help the kids. I mean, that’s it. We’re just here to help. The Salvation Army does a wonderful thing for the low-income kids. So that’s what we’re here for is just to help kids. I mean, we all come together on this day. And when we’re all one, we’re all one big group tonight.”
Motorcyclists for Kids  plans to be back for next year which would mark 30 years of giving back.
