Multiple Disability Students Celebrate Success

The Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center is paving the way for students with disabilities to find work post-graduation.

MVESC Intervention Specialist, Zeb Wood, said several former Multiple Disability students are actively employed in the community. During a panel discussion, those students were given the chance to share their success stories with current students in the program.

“They’re on a panel answering questions that some of the current students may have, and giving them the opportunity to learn what the job process is, what it takes maintain a job, hold a job,” Wood said.

Although Friday’s event recognized student achievement, the panel discussion was also an opportunity for students to address obstacles they’ve overcome on their road to employment.

“There are plenty of opportunities for individuals with disabilities, we’ve got six people on the panel that’s proof,” Wood said.

MVESC Multiple Disability classrooms are located in John Glenn, Tri-Valley, and West Muskingum schools. The program serves students pre-k through high school.
