Muskies and Lady Bishops Advance to Regional Finals
HEBRON, Ohio — If you thought the Rosecrans Girl’s soccer game against Hiland for the district finals was exciting, their match with Grandview Heights in the regional semi-finals Tuesday was just as intense.
It was a defensive struggle for most of the game, but then with just over 10 minutes to go, Claire Creeks put the Lady Bishops up 1-0 thanks to a penalty kick.
Then after a controversial call, the referees added an extra 23 seconds to the clock near the end of the game giving the Lady Bobcats a chance to tie the game 1-1 with just seventeen seconds left on the clock.
After two scoreless overtime periods the two teams headed to a shootout.
Rosecrans hit three out of their five goals to win.
The Lady Bishops are now on their way to the regional finals where they will play Alexander.
In other girl’s soccer news..John Glenn defeated River View 4-2 in a shootout to advance to the regional finals.
The Black Bears and Muskies were tied 0-0 after regulation and remained scoreless after two overtime periods.
