Muskingum Co. court system works to get new software

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Muskingum County court system is taking steps to get new software for all the different courts.
The software would centralize court documents on one interface that would be accessible to all the different parties. It would unify the prosecutor, common pleas court and smaller courts to one location.
“We all use various software vendors at this point in time and even though we try to share information as best as we can it’s hard to because of the 3 different software do not mesh,” said Todd Bickle, Muskingum County Common Pleas clerk of court.
Bickle said the new software would not only make looking up cases easier and more time efficient but would avoid scheduling conflicts between the different courts and allow for all documents to be filed.
“We’ve added a chance to be able to start scanning and imaging documents on all the courts to which is a big benefit and will finally get us into the 21st century because we’ve been a little bit behind on that part of it,” said Bickle.
He said the bid amount for the software is approximately $735,000 which they would pay over a three-year timeline.
