Muskingum County Celebrates National Tourism Week

Kelly Ashby, Vice President at the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce, said that it’s a great way for them to talk about all of the wonderful things to see and do in Muskingum County. It’s also an opportunity for them to talk about the impacts of tourism.

“It’s a huge economic impact. We have 3,100 employees in the hospitality industry in Muskingum County. Its over a $200 million impact on Muskingum County’s economy when travelers come into the area,” said Ashby.

She also said that now with kids getting out of school for the summer, that things are starting to get a lot busier as far as tourists coming through the area to visit some of the attractions that Muskingum County has to offer.

“There’s a lot of fun things to see and do in Muskingum County. The museums are open now and recently the Wild’s opened this past weekend,” said Ashby.
