Muskingum County Common Pleas Clerk of Court Dies

The longtime Clerk of Courts for Muskingum County Common Pleas Court has died. Todd Bickle passed away Thursday morning. Muskingum County Commissioner Cindy Cameron says at around 8:40 this morning an emergency squad was called to Bickle’s home. Cameron says they are not sure of the cause of death but it is possible it was a heart attack.
“Todd was just genuinely a good person. I think you guys would know what I’m talking about. I don’t think he had any enemies, never had a cross word. Normally had a smile on his face. Just a true gentleman,” says Mike Haddox, Muskingum Co. Prosecuting Attorney. “During his term as clerk of courts, he computerized out Clerk of Courts [office]. He was an integral part of helping [to] create our Domestic Relations court years ago. He worked on the JC Penney building project across the street here, which is now known as the Richard D. Hixson Government Services building. I don’t think that would have occurred without Todd Bickle,” Haddox adds.
Bickle was currently in the fourth year of his 7th term at the Clerk of Courts.
Congressman Troy Balderson issued a statement on the death of Bickle:
Muskingum County lost not only a great elected official today, but a great supporter of our community. Todd was a personal friend of my family and someone I’ve had the pleasure of knowing for more than 30 years.
Our entire community mourns this loss, and my thoughts and prayers are with his wife Kristi, their two children, his parents Bob and Joanne, brother Greg, and granddaughter.
