ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Â The Muskingum County Community Foundation is gearing up for its 31st annual Groundhog Day celebration.
The Ohio University Zane State College Campus Center is hosting the big event next Friday. CEO Brain Wagner is preparing items for the live and silent auction. His office is overflowing with prizes thanks to the generosity of the community.
“We also take time to recognize a couple outstanding individuals. The Dick Johnson Civic Leadership Award will be handed out this year to Larry Triplett. And also the Brian T. Wagner Community Leadership Award will go to Joey Osborn. It’s a great opportunity for us to celebrate our 31st anniversary. We’re looking forward to having a great time,” said Wagner
Wagner said he enjoys seeing the camaraderie and fellowship from this event. All proceeds that are raised are put back into the community.
“This allows organizations within the community that focus in on arts, education, and recreation to apply for these grants to help fund some of their projects. We get to have a great time on a Friday evening in the dead of January, the monies that we raise will then give back out into our spring grant competition to help the community out as best we can,” said Wagner.
Wagner said you can still purchase tickets and even view auction items by visiting www.mccf.org.
