Muskingum County Community Foundation Spring Grant Winners

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Muskingum County Community Foundation will be giving over $35,000, of grant money, to local non-profits.

The M.C.C.F.’s Distribution Center reviewed over 35 grant requests. The Board of Trustees voted to provide funding for 11 different organizations and projects. CEO of the M.C.C.F., Brian Wagner said it was a lengthy voting process.

“We have ten people on our distribution committee that takes each application through a rubric and does some scoring and all that individually. Then, we compile those scores together and take the average and then those individuals then get together in a room and look at how that scoring stacked up and then have discussions around these projects,” said Wagner.

Trulight Ministries will be receiving the most money with $5000 in Grants. Several organizations including, Habit for Humanity and Muskingum County Library Services, will receive $4000 to help aid their services to the community.

“Some of the grants that are given are going to help sustain ongoing programs that are already impacting our community. In some cases, there’s going to be new programs. One of the programs that we’re looking, that’s going to receive support this year, is going to be some cooking classes,” said Wagner.
