Muskingum County Hosts 4th Annual Blue Ribbon Expo

ZANESVILLE, Ohio–The 4th annual Blue Ribbon Expo was held at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds.

The expo focused on individuals aged 50 and older, offering a variety of resources for those who may need assistance or support.

“We felt like there was a need that oftentimes, as we get older, we might not know where to turn for help. We wanted to let people know that there are resources out there specifically for seniors, for people over 50,” said Muskingum County Fair Board Member Gail Deitrick.

The free event featured a wide range of vendors, door prizes, musical entertainment, complimentary lunch, food for purchase, and a chance auction. A major goal of the event was to foster a sense of community and create a fun, welcoming environment for those who may not know about community resources.

Board member Jonna Sharp said she hopes attendees leave the expo with valuable information and connections.

“Just a bit of knowledge, if they need help, where to go to get that help. We have insurance groups, the K9 Adoption Center who need volunteers, Paws. Just anybody that has something that would benefit anybody over 50, they try to sign up,” Sharp said.

If you missed the Blue Ribbon Expo, there are more events coming up at the fairgrounds.

The farmers market begins this Saturday, and fair food will be available Thursday through Sunday, along with plenty of other goodies to enjoy.
