Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week; Meet Berry!
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – It’s time to check in with Doug McQuaid at the Muskingum County Sheriff’s K-9 Adoption Center to meet this week’s dog of the week.
This is Berry! She’s around 5 months old, a terrier mix, and a sweetheart looking for her new home. McQuaid wants you to know that if you take on a puppy, you’re taking on a major commitment.
“Berry is a pup. So, Berry will need a lot of training, a lot of time, patience, and effort. You can teach a pup to do about anything,” McQuaid said. “There’s many things about a pup you want to be aware of. You want to make sure that they are, you know, watched over, looked out, and also to be able to have the routine that it needs to be taken to the bathroom. And timing is also a very important effort.”
If you love dogs like Berry and can’t have a dog of your own, you can volunteer at the K-9 Adoption Center and get to know all the dogs waiting for their new home.
“And of course we’re always looking for volunteers. All the dogs that usually come in are dogs that are unknown about their situation and circumstances and different things about them,” McQuaid said. “So we try to, as volunteers, learn many things about them so we can help promote them if they aren’t reclaimed so they can get a great adoptive home.”
