ZANESVILLE, Ohio – This weeks Dog of the Week has a name on theme for the Halloween season. Meet Buffy, she may not be the vampire slayer you’re looking for, but this terrier mix is full of energy, is extremely affectionate, and is ready to steal your heart and find a forever home.

“We are basically right now working with her with leash training. She’s a little rambunctious while walking but as she walks she starts to tone down a little bit. Keeps a very clean kennel and that is exceptional for a new adopter,” said Doug McQuaid, a volunteer at the Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center. “She would be someone that would just need a lot of excessive. You know, between 1 and 2 years old, we always talk about dogs at that age being still in puppy style. So that would be something you want to make sure you take into consideration.”

The adoption center wants to let the community know that they have a variety of free dry dog food you to take home and share a reminder for an event on Monday.

“Also Oct. 27, don’t forget about our Trunk-or-Treat. As a business, if that’s something you want to participate in, get ahold of one of our staff members. It is for dogs and kids and that will be from 5 to 6:30 [p.m.],” said McQuaid.

The Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center can be found on 1854 East Pike in Zanesville with more information available on their Facebook page or by calling (740) 453-0273.
