Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week; Meet Denver!

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – This weeks dog of the week maybe the dog for you if you’re a fan of the Broncos.

Meet Denver. He’s estimated to be 2 years old, is a terrier lab mix who’s kid friendly, dog friendly and keeps a clean kennel. His favorite part of potentially getting adopted might be the car ride to his new home.

“He seems like when cars go by and so fourth when we’re walking him, that he seems very attentive to those. So that would be something maybe that he would have ridden in cars in the past and that’s something that he would might like to do. So if you like a dog that would maybe like to ride in the front seat of the car with you, this guy might just be your ticket. So as you can tell he’s very attentive to sitting beside of you so I’m sure he would do the same on the couch or in a vehicle. So, like I said, would just be a great dog for anybody. ”

Doug McQuaid, a volunteer at the Muskingum County Sheriff’s K-9 Adoption Center, says he’s thankful to those who came out to an event hosted by the adoption center where Denver got to meet new people.

“I would like to thank the community for bringing the kids out to our community event at the fairgrounds, the Storybook Christmas. Seemed like all the kids really enjoyed it. It was free to the public, it’s something we’re going to do again next year. We have bigger and better ideas, even for that. So, if it’s something this year that you missed out on, you might definitly want to try to come out to next year. We really enjoyed doing it, it seemed like the kids really enjoyed it as well. So, I think overall it was just a great success.”

The adoption center is also one of the locations in the county where you can get or renew your dog license for $16 from now until Jan. 31. You can learn more about getting your dog license or how to bring Denver home by calling (740) 453-0273.
