ZANESVILLE, OH – This Week’s Dog of the Week is the last one for 2025 but he has some pep in his step and is trying to find his forever home.

Meet Nitro! He’s a one-year-old terrier mix who’s neutered, keeps a clean kennel, and loves everyone he meets.

Doug McQuaid, a Volunteer at the K-9 Adoption Center, says due to Nitro’s age, he’s going to need some training as well as some patience.

“He’s a little hyper but seems to be very loving, does very well with kids, and appears to be dog friendly.” McQuaid said. “Just remember, he is young, and we always talk about that, you know in the first year is all the different things you go through, a lot of routine and so forth. But he has a very good way of learning, and seems to be smart.”

As 2025 comes to a close, McQuaid wanted to take some time to thank the community for coming and supporting the Adoption Center at all of their events this year.

They hope to make 2026 another fun year for the community as well as the animals in their care.

“Thank you for all of the donations and also thank you for all of the pet adoptions this year.” McQuaid said. “2025 was a very successful year so we just want to let you know how much we appreciate your generosity and all your support.”
