MCLS Teams Up with OUZ for Adulting 101 Program

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum County Library System is hosting a program to help younger adults.
The library is partnering up with Ohio University Zanesville for the program called Adulting 101.
Each day this week, teens and young adults will learn about topics from car maintenance to first time home buying.
Alyssa Fisher, the Assistant Librarian at the John McIntire Library, said this program is to encourage people to feel more confident as they begin to do more adult things.
“We encourage people to come to these programs so they can feel more confident about doing more “adulting” things,” Fisher said. “Like when it comes to first time home buying. Many people don’t know how to take out a loan or just don’t know where to start.”
Each program will take place at Herrold Hall on OUZ’s campus. Some of the other topics for this program include workplace professionalism, stress management, and lifelong fitness.
Fisher hopes people who attend the Adulting 101 program leave feeling better than when they arrived.
“I hope they leave feeling better about themselves and have a better grasp on life than what they did before,” Fisher said. “It’ll be a judgment free zone, because we’re all trying to figure something out.”
Registration is required for the Adulting 101 program. You can register by heading to muskingumlibrary.org/events.
