Muskingum County May Get Amphitheater
What would you say if Muskingum County were home to an amphitheatre?
That’s just what Rocko Salvatino of Value Development Corporation proposed to the Muskingum County Commissioners. Salvatino says Muskingum County is perfectly located for such a venue.
“Because it’s centrally located, it is exactly between Columbus and Wheeling,” said Salvatino. “It’s about an hour’s drive, which positions Muskingum County. To literally have millions of people within an hour’s drive to draw from.”
The spot is located right off I-70 next to the Norwich exit. Salvatino says they’re still in the beginning phases of the project.
“We’re simply in an investigative stage and we are just looking at the area, looking at the demographics, looking at a number of factors to see whether or not this is something we want to go forward with,” he said.
The county commissioners will investigate what would be needed on the county’s part to host such a venue. They say water and sewer lines are a big consideration.
The commissioners will meet with Salvatino in a couple weeks to discuss their findings.
