Muskingum County Ohio Means Jobs job fair

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Muskingum County Ohio Means Jobs is hosting a job fair this Thursday that is open to the public.

Thirty-five employers will be on site to fill over 100 open jobs. The jobs are in manufacturing, clerical, and medical. The interviews will be on the spot with possibilities of being hired before you leave. Julie Metzger, the Ohio Means Jobs Supervisor encourages all interested applicants to bring their resumes and be ready to impress.

“You want to dress professional. Business casual is good for coming to the job fair and presenting yourself. You want to be able to sell yourself as an individual and also the skill set that you have as well.”

There will also be an interview prep workshop the day before the fair at the Ohio Means Job location on Woodlawn Avenue. The workshop will help prepare candidates for interviews at the job fair.

“We are having an interviewing session here at Ohio Means Jobs and we have HR representatives from different companies coming in. And you can sign up for this.”

Metzger also shared some tips for those who may not be able to attend the workshop, but wants to be prepared.

“Just make sure that your resume is clear with the skill set that you have. Make sure that you’re dressed for success is what we call it. And just be prepared to interview.”

If you would like to attend the interview prep workshop on Wednesday at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. You can call 740-454-0161 to reserve a spot. The job fair will take place Thursday at the Zanesville-Muskingum Welcome Center from 2:00-2:30 p.m.for Veterans and 2:30-5:00 p.m. for the general public.
