ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Muskingum County Prosecutor Ron Welch has announced a new annual report initiative and released the 2025 annual report in a press release last week.

The report was released on February 9th and shows high-profile convictions and community outreach efforts that took place in 2025. The annual report also highlights statistics for the prosecutor’s office, including indictments, delinquent taxes collected, and criminal currency forfeited.

“Well, we wanted to let people in Muskingum County to know that not only do we do criminal prosecutions, but we do a lot of other things that impact the community as not only part of our criminal prosecutions, but other parts of our organization that help the public,” Welch said.

The report highlights their Diversion and Rehabilitation Treatment Program, or DART, which is designed to address the root cause of non-violent drug offenses through treatment and support. Notable statistics featured in the report include over 2,000 criminal cases filed, nearly $63,000 in restitution collected in welfare fraud, and $8.5 million in child support disbursed in 2025.

“And the reason that is important is because the families that are receiving it, whether it be a mother or a father, they’re receiving it on the behalf of their children who need that support in order to have proper accommodations, proper care, proper clothing,” Welch said.

According to the report, the prosecutor’s office has reinvested $14,000 into community-based programs like Foodworks Recovery with a purpose, Project READY, and Drug-Free ME at Mid-East Career Center. The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s 2025 Annual Report can be found on their website.
