Muskingum County Reading Festival Returns!
ZANESVILLE, OH – An annual Reading Festival is returning, bigger and better than ever.
The Muskingum County Reading Festival is coming back to the Colony Square Mall on Saturday, September 26th, from 10AM until 1PM.
Sean Fennell, the Marketing and Community Relations Director with the Muskingum County Library System, says they’re teaming up with the Muskingum County Literacy Council to help celebrate the joy of reading.
“This is something that we brought to you every year, usually this was in the Spring, but this year we’ve moved it.” Fennell said. “Kind of right around when you’re back in school a little bit, to kind of spark that love of learning and get people back and interested in the Library and literacy and reading activities.”
Fennell says last year’s event had around 2,300 attendees and they hope to reach that many people again this year.
He says there will be authors for kids and adults, free books, interactive activities, giveaways, and even some characters are planning to stop by.
“Rumor has it that Bluey will be there, of course Hoobert will be there, and Bard the Bunny from the Muskingum County Literacy Council.” Fennell said. “So it’s going to be a really fun day, if you have been before you already know how fun it is. Tell your friends, tell your family, and bring them along because it is just a really joyful day.”
