ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Â Going once. Going twice. Sold. The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office is holding a car auction this Saturday.
Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said the auction features an array of cars from abandoned, salvaged, junk, and even former county vehicles.
“We have 53 cars and trucks that are going through that portion of the abandon junk car sale,” said Sheriff Lutz. “And then we added I think another 30 cars that have been used for the county.”
Lutz said not only does the car auction free up space at the evidence center, but it also helps generate funds and gives the sheriff’s office another source of income.
“So we have to have a legal way of getting rid of those vehicles. And so we have this auction. We’ve been doing it for several years. We’re actually going to be doing 2-3 auctions a year to get rid of some of these cars,” said Lutz.
The car auction will be held at the Sheriff’s Office Evidence Building, located at 1470 Old Adamsville Road. More information, including a listing and photos of vehicles, visit http://www.auctionzip.com/Listings/2701319.html
