Muskingum County Veterans Hall of Fame

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Muskingum County Veterans Hall of Fame will be inducting two new members this weekend.
Orville Adams will be one of those inducted into the Veterans Hall of Fame. Adams was nominated by Jeffory Dittmar for all the good in the community he has done such as driving sick Veteran neighbors to Columbus for over five years. Orville said going into the Hall of Fame is a complete surprise and honor.
“Something that you don’t expect. My wife was working behind my back with them,” said Adams. “And it’s a shock, because she been working with us for years on the parades and everything else and I just thought she was doing stuff with Dittmar on the parade, and then in other words she was helping him and I knew nothing about it.
Adams said when they got back from serving in Korea, they were not appreciated the way Veterans are appreciated and thanked today. He said seeing so many people being involved in honoring Veterans is wonderful.
“What I’m seeing that really gets me is the Children,” said Adams. “They’re getting the children involved. From the small ones on up. That’s one of the greatest feeling that ever was, seeing kids out there.”
Kurt Agin is also being inducted for numerous reasons including helping Veterans and their families in need while serving a five-year term on the Muskingum County Veterans Service Commission. The induction take place on Saturday at 7 P.M. at the Welcome Center.
