Muskingum Family YMCA Announces Recipients for the 2022 Women of Achievement Awards

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- The Muskingum Family Y has announced the recipients for their 34th Annual Women of Achievement Awards.

The achievement awards honor the selected women throughout Muskingum County based on their contributions to education, volunteer work, managerial work or their professional roles. 

The achievement awards are also in collaboration with Zane State College and Ohio University Zanesville, says Heather Sands, Campus Coordinator of Communications and External Relations at OUZ.

“It’s important for these women to be recognized. We all have the people in our community and in our lives that have made a major impact that we are just, we’re just with them everyday and we don’t realize everything that they’re involved with and everything that they do,” Sands listed. “We have multiple award winners this year and they are Sheryl Wise, Judy Davis, Mary Arnold, Stephanie Freas, Julie MacLaine, Mary Ann Dutro, Beth Brown and Kierston Harper.”

Residents can learn more and honor the women of achievement during the banquet ceremony that will be held on May 4th at the Zane State Campus Center. 

Sands said they will also be recognizing the 2020 recipients due to not having a ceremony for them because of the COVID pandemic.

“We’re excited to recognize people there. We’re looking for more sponsors because they will be recognized on our billboards, across our community, but also at the event they’ll be able to hear from all of the 2022 recipients. They’re going to share their stories and accept their award at the event catered by Theo’s Catering,” Sands stated.

The recipients were chosen carefully by the selection committee, which is made up of past recipients and community leaders.
