Muskingum to Host Mount St. Joseph in “Play for 22” Game

When Muskingum women’s basketball hosts Mount St. Joseph Wednesday night, the message behind the game may be more important than the final score.

The game is being called the "Play for 22" game, in honor of Mount St. Joseph freshman forward Lauren Hill, who is battling an inoperable form of brain cancer called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).

Hill’s fight against cancer drew national attention when she took to the court against Hiram at Xavier’s Cintas Center earlier this month.

Despite many thinking that game would be the first and last of Hill’s college career, the Greendale, Indiana native defied the odds by playing again last Friday against Bethany College.

Regardless of whether Hill suits up for Lions, the Lady Muskies plan on giving back to the young woman who has inspired so many.

All ticket proceeds and T-shirt sales from the game will be donated to The Cure Starts Now Foundation.

Shirts can also be ordered online by visiting Gametime Dezigns on Facebook.

The game will tip-off at 7:30 at Muskingum’s Performance Court.
