ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum Valley Boating Association is looking for new members this season.

Bill Page, the Commodore of the Boating Association, says the best part is you don’t even have to own a camper or boat to use their facilities with your membership.

He says they have 15 permanent campsites that have electric and water hookups, overnight camping, and detailed what you can find at the two bigger complexes.

“We have 2 buildings, the main building has a full kitchen, large dining area, and recreation area.” Page said. “Has restrooms, showers, outside is a full patio where you can lounge and look at the river, we have big screen T.V. ‘s , and a large barbecue area. Non-members can actually rent the facility also, if they want it for birthday parties, weddings, anything they want it for, they can rent the entire facility. The second building has an open patio area, a fire pit, again overlooking the river, so you can relax in the evenings and have a drink or whatever and just enjoy the peace and quiet.”

Page says there’s also a playground area for kids to run and swing in the warmer months.

He says they also host many events throughout the year like their chicken and fish fry, a Jeep poker run that will take place later this year, as well as a big yard sale for the community to come and take part in.

“It’s nice to have a place where you can take the kids and have open space for them to run down the batteries.” Page said. “Have picnics, and just enjoy the river. If you have a boat of course, it’s a great place.”

The Boating Association is located at 2400 Boat Dock Rd.

The membership cost is $175 a year, and for those interested in getting their membership you can call (740)-704-3239.
