Muskingum Valley Red Cross to Hold Blood Drive at Secrest Auditorium
WHIZ is teaming up with one local organization to help save lives.
The Red Cross and WHIZ are holding a blood drive at Secrest Auditorium Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m until 2:30 p.m. We spoke to the Executive Director of the Muskingum Valley Red Cross, Marlene Henderson to find out more.
It’s actually our media drive which WHIZ sponsors for us and we appreciate it so much. If you need to make an appointment you need to call the 1-800 Red Cross number, there are still appointments available for you to go in. They are also going to be doing the AA Reds tomorrow. It’s a great time over the holiday to roll up your sleeve and save a life.”
Henderson said for every unit of blood collected, they can save up to three lives. She also told us this is a great time of the year to donate.
“Of course, we all know that human blood can not be manufactured. It’s important this time of year especially because, all of the schools are out, people are traveling for Christmas and the holidays the chances of traumas are greater this time of year.”
To make an appointment, you can contact the red cross at 1-800- RED CROSS.
