ZANESVILLE – The church’s patrons felt the best way to give back to the community was a clean-up of Putnam Landing. There will also be other events during the afternoon.
“We’re going to be cleaning up the trash and everything on the Putnam Landing and walking around. We’re also going to have music here by Jason Edwards Adams in the parking lot just to have a fun day to break up. I also have the mediator from the Zanesville Citizen Housing Connection here,” Vineyard Church Respite Center’s Jill Sharrer said.
Sharrer anticipates many helping hands who want to participate. There are other activities at the church for people who do not wish to pick up trash.
“During the day we’re open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (and) we have 22 to 35 people that come in regularly so I figure there’s probably going to be a lot of people. We’ll also have somebody at the church (so) that way if they’re too elderly or whatever and don’t want to pick up they’ll have activities like painting hope rocks and pumpkins stuff here at the church,” Sharrer said.
The cleanup will last from 1 to 4 PM Friday.
