MVESC Earns High Performance Designation

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center recently received a High Performing ESC designation from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Development.
The MVESC is an agency that provides area school districts with specialized services that improves the quality of education and maximizes operating efficiencies.
“There’s an application process, you provide supporting evidence and you have to have at least a five percent cost savings for your client districts and schools. The Muskingum Valley ESC went above and beyond this bench mark with cost savings of 56.6 percent. So we’re really excited,” MVESC Communications and HR Coordinator Brittani Zook said.
To earn the award, MVESC focused on five different services that they provide for their client school districts. Those services are Speech Services, Teacher of Visually Impaired, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Autism Services. They compared their costs with other ESC’s to calculate the 56.6 savings percentage.
“We’re providing these services the districts not necessarily would have access to and efficiencies to operate within their own districts,” Zook said. “So we’re providing these services. There’s a need and we’re here to help in any way we can at a cheaper cost. We’re providing the services 56 percent cost difference than an outside provider or entity would do. So I think that speaks volumes on the services we’re providing.”
Educational needs are ever expanding because they can venture well beyond the students. The MVESC is currently focused on extending their services to accommodate day care facilitation and education.
